The Dance Audition--THURSDAY
Everyone will participate in the dance audition. This show requires a lot of movement from the cast, who is on stage most of the show. The better you do at the dance audition, the more you will be featured in the show.
The choreographer will teach you a short combination of dance steps. This will be done in a group as a whole. We’ll switch lines often, so everyone can see the choreographer and learn the steps. You are not being evaluated at this point, so position yourself so you can see, hear and pick up the steps.
Some sections will be easier than others. The important thing is to give it your best effort.
After the combination is taught, you will be broken into groups and perform the combination for the director and choreographer. They will score your performance on both how well you execute the dance steps AND how well you convey the right attitude to the audience. You may get a step or two wrong, but a big smile and good energy will go a long way! We like people who “give good face”.
